Happy Fourth of July, part 1

Greenlight Shop Tools Multipack #2

Another hobby shop exclusive set of shop tools from Greenlight. This set includes an air compressor, battery charger, drill press, vintage gas pump, vintage soda machine, and work bench. Again, the attention to detail is great.

Yat-Ming Lamborghini Marzal (#1004)

I picked up this Yat Ming 2-pack at a recent die cast show for $5. Unusual subjects, so I was happy to add it to my collection. The art work on the packaging is nice, too. Don't believe that there is another version of the Marzal in 1/64th scale, but could be wrong. It really evokes the 1960s.

1936 Cord 810 Winchester Sedan - Hot Wheels Hall of Fame Series (B2545)

This is by far my favorite model by Hot Wheels in my collection. It is the 1936 Cord 810 (B2545)  from the 2003 Hall of Fame Series - Legends. It is honoring Gordon Miller Buehrig. From the card:
"Credit for the 810 Cord has been given to many, but no one more deserving than Gordon Miller Buehrig, who brought his talents to three legendary marques: Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg. While still in his twenties, Buehrig's contribution to the evolution of the automobile was already substantial. As chief designer at Duesenberg from 1929 to 1933, he was responsible for numerous celebrated coachwork designs. In bringing his passion for design to the Cord, Buehrig created a thing of beauty; graceful in proportions, low-slung and high powered. He avoided conventional design techniques, while realizing the entirely new and historic 810 Cord."

Cord was Indiana based, so it has added appeal for me. This model has some of the best tampos I've seen, and I love these wheels and the interior. It is just about perfect.

GL Muscle Exclusive Shop Tool Multipack #1

Greenlight has a series of shop tool sets that are sold exclusively at hobby stores. I picked this set up at a diecast show in Noblesville. They run around $5, which isn't that bad. There aren't many alternatives in 1/64 scale, and they are nicely detailed. This set came with a creeper shop tool, drill press, traffic barrel, tire display, vintage gas pump, and tool cabinet.

Hot Wheels Island Hopper (CFV11)

This was released as part of the 2015 Holiday series available at Walmart. Here is Hot Wheels Island Hopper (CFV11). I picked up a few as they are clearly inspired by the Army's OH-6 Cayuse. The goal is to repaint them black and use them as cheap air assets in wargaming. It will eventually be covered or stripped, but I do like the graphics on this, and like the snowman logo used here. The figure is from a HALO set from McFarlane Toys.

McFarlane Toys Game of Thrones sets

Saw these at Toys R Us and quickly snapped them up. They are building sets, compatible to Legos, made by McFarlane Toys. The Iron Throne set as $19.99, and the banner sets for $4.99 each, a real bargain compared to Legos. Proudly on display at my desk at work.
