Hot Wheels 2005 Corvette C6R (P2391) - 2009 Mainline edition

Hot Wheels released this version back in 2009 as part of the Hot Wheels Racing Series. The casting looks great in the satin blue paint, and the wheels compliment the look. From the card:
"Specialty: Modified with a wing, body work for racing and turned suspension for performance, this Corvette was made to beat all others in its class."

Hot Wheels '56 Chevy (N9046) from 2009 Larry's Garage

Hot Wheels 1956 Chevy Bel Air (N9046) from Larry's Garage (2 of 20). As a premium this has metal body and chassis, and Real Rider tires. Looks good in Champagne. There is an unfortunate blemish in the passenger side paint.

Hot Wheels GP-2009 (P2389) - 2009 Mainline

Per the Hot Wheels wikia, "The GP-2009 has been around since 1999 and has seen many names. It has gone by: Generic Indy Car, Ferrari F1, Jaguar F1, Jordan F1, McLaren F1, Stewart F1, and Williams F1. Originally the casting featured an open cockpit but in 2000, a driver was added to this castings interior mold. In 2009, this car was finally given the official name of GP-2009." As a native of Indianapolis, I like open-wheeled cars due to the local connection. I like the blue Mattel used on this casting, and think that, overall, it is a good example of a Gran Prix racer.

Hot Wheels 1970 Buick GSX (N4010) from 2009 Mainline New Models

In 1970 Buick introduced the GSX option to the Skylark as an answer to the GTO, 4-4-2, and Hemi 'Cuda. And a great looking muscle car it is. The Hot Wheels version, here, looks great in red and is from the casting's introduction in 2009 to the Mainline. From the card back:

"Specialty: With a hood-mounted tachometer and front and rear spoilers, this muscle car was made to take the streets and take your pinks."

Hot Wheels 1970 Mercury Cyclone (N9064) - 2009 Larry's Garage series 20 of 20

I really started collecting die-cast in the last few years, so I wasn't buying cars when the Larry's Garage series was on the pegs back in 2009. Here is the 1970 Mercury Cyclone (N9064), the last of that series (number 20 of 20). It's casting like this that make me wish I was. Everything about this one is done right - the paint, the trim, and the wheels combine to make this casting a winner. I have a few of Larry's Garage models in my collection, and am looking forward to adding the others.

Hot Wheels So Fine (N9059) - from 2009 Larry's Garage series (15 of 20)

Another version of Hot Wheels' So Fine casting - this time from the premium series Larry's Garage. The model is a modified 1951 Buick. The two tone paint is well done, but is a disappointment. The flat rust looks like primer to me, so the car feels unfinished. The wheels look good for this casting and the chrome grill really give it a menacing look.

Hot Wheels 2009 New Model - 1972 Custom V8 Vega (N4026)

From the 2009 Mainline, this was a new release for that year. It's the Custom V8 Vega (N4026). At that time Hot Wheels used the same item # for color variations - I have 3 versions of this casting with the same part number. As a new release, it looks fairly stock. I remember Vegas as a kid, especially the Cosworth version. My brother had a stock Vega, and it ran OK as I remember. But not a popular car at the time - reportedly, junk yards refused to take Vegas as they had too many of them already.
From the card back: "Specialty: With a custom front air dam, high-rise hood scoop and dual exhaust, there's nothing vague about this Vega, baby."
