M2 Machines has done an admirable job with its Volkswagen Double Cab series sold through Walmart. Here is the 1959 Volkswagen Double Cab Truck USA Model. Looks great with its stock rims and the authentic paint scheme. Would have loved to have found one of the chase pieces, but no such luck.
Modeling in (mostly) 1/72nd scale (and any other subject that catches my attention - author suffers from acute "shiny item" syndrome)

M2 1959 Volkswagen Double Cab Truck USA model - Walmart exclusive
M2 has released a new series of Volkswagen Double Cab trucks exclusively through Walmart. At almost $6 a pop, they are a little pricey (as compared to the basic Hot Wheels). But these models look really, really good. Here is the 1959 Volkswagen Double Cab truck with a customized look. The paint may be correct for the period, but the wheels are definitely not stock. This could be the cherry red with black, but I'm terrible at telling.

Johnny Lightning Volkswagen 1965 Type 2 Pickup
Johnny Lightning is kind of hit and miss with me ... some of the castings are clunky. But when they released a good casting, such as this Volkswagen Type 2 pickup, it was really good. The lines look great, the paint is spot on, and the details are well rendered. Glad I was able to add this to my collection.

Jeep Willys 4X4 (MB955) from the Walmart 2016 Jeep Series
Matchbox released a Jeep series exclusively through Walmart earlier this year. Included was this Willys Jeep Pick-up, MB955, which is the best of the offerings in my opinion. The 5 horizontal bars across the v-shaped grill places this as a '50 to '52 model referred to as the 473.

Matchbox 2015 Ford F-150 Contractor Truck (MB970)
I've only found one of these on the pegs, so they are either rare, popular, or both. Here is one of Matchbox's recent offerings, the '15 Ford F-150 Contractor Truck, MB970. The decals are well done, and it is a good representation of its subject. Will look good on any construction site.

Merry Christmas (ish)
This post is obviously overdue. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Time to share M2's 1960 Ford C-600 semi truck and trailer in Moon Pie livery. Included was a bonus 1949 Studebaker 2R pick-up, also with Moon Pie tampos. The Studebaker came with bent axles and warped tires, so I've contacted M2 Castline to attempt to correct this. The antifreeze green works great for the Holidays.

Johnny Lightning 1971 El Camino
Got this for a couple of bucks at the Hot Wheels shop in the flea market. I do miss Johnny Lightning, and am excited about its rumored return. The wheels on this are plastic, so this rolls really well.

Another Hot Wheels Subaru Brat (DHY01)- 2015 Mainline Kmart exclusive
Just picked up another Subaru Brat, this one released as a Kmart exclusive. I didn't find this on the pegs - got it at a club meeting for $1.50. I like the color choice and the tampos.
Hot Wheels 2015 HW Road Trippin' series - 17 of 21, Custom '56 Ford Truck (DFL50)
Went to a club meeting today in Indianapolis and was able to plug some wholes in my collection. Picked up a couple of the Road Trippin' series, including the Custom '56 Ford Truck decorated to commemorate the Pan-American Highway. As usual, the card art looks great. And the tampos on the model looks great. Got if for $3, which is a little more than retail, but I haven't been having too much luck finding these at Walmart.

Hot Wheels 2016 New Edition - Custom '72 Chevy LUV (DHP17)
Here is one of Hot Wheels new offerings for 2016 - the 1972 Custom Chevy LUV. From the card back: "Specialty: LUV stands for light utility vehicle and this souped-up, decked out version features an exposed engine, sun roof, and plenty of power." This is part of the 2016 HW Hot Trucks segment, number 8 of 10, and is 148/250 for the 2016 Mainline. I like small pick-ups, having once owned a Ford Ranger. Not familiar with the LUV, but, aside from the "souped-up" engine, this seems like a reasonable version.

Hot Wheels Nissan Titan (BFF56) from 2013 Mainline Kmart Exclusive
Was surprised to find this Kmart exclusive from 2013 still on the pegs when I went looking in November of 2015. Still running through my collection to sort out my pickups.

Greenlight SE 1972 Chevrolet C10 pickup - from the Country Roads Series 13
A nice looking offering from Greenlight - a 1972 Chevy C10 with camper shell from the Country Roads line. The paint scheme, not really my cup of tea, was a factory option apparently. Part of the "Mod Bods" offering available in 1972.

Hot Wheels 2013 Boulevard Subaru Brat (X8291)
Here is the Subaru Brat from Hot Wheels' 2013 premium line Boulevard. With metal base and body, and real rider wheels, the casting is a little more expensive. But it is worth it in my opinion.

Matchbox 1999 Silverado (MB398)
Here is Matchbox's 1999 Chevy Silverado that was part of a 2000 release 5-pack 'Ocean Dock'. I like the overall lines of the model, but would prefer a different set of tampos.
Hot Wheels Custom '62 Chevy pickups
Here are 3 of the variations available of the Hot Wheels Custom '62 Chevy pickup. One is the debut version from 2008, and 2 are from the 2015 Mainline. From the card back: "Specialty: A combination of the classic Chevy with modern details, this hot rod pickup is smoothed and lowered for the ultimate chilled-out style. Decked out with a surfboard in the bed, it's perfect for cruising the strand on a slow, sunny Sunday or a warm summer night."
Matchbox 1966 Dodge A100 pickup (MB862) from 2015 Regular Series
Here is my final example of Matchbox's Dodge A100 pickup. This is from the 2015 Regular Series. Hopefully Matchbox will release some additional variations of this lovely casting.

Hot Wheels 1967 Chevy C10 pickup - 2016 Mainline Hot Trucks (DHR49)
Hot Wheels 1967 Chevy C10 pickup in black. From the 2016 Mainline, it is 3 out of 10 from the Hot Trucks segment, and is 143/250. The General Store diorama is from Motor Max.
Hot Wheels 50s Chevy Truck from the 2006 Ultra Hots series (J2830)
This is a customized Chevy fifties truck from Hot Wheels. I like that the tailgate tips, and that there is detail underneath. Not sure what served as the basis for this customization, but the crew cab wasn't an option that I can find. The pin-striping on the hood is a nice detail. The diorama is the "Country General Store" from Motor Max.
