Matchbox 1943 Jeep Willys (MB784) from Walmart Jeep series

Earlier this year Matchbox released an 8 car series of jeeps through the years that was a Walmart exclusive. Here is the 1943 Willys MB, commonly referred to as a jeep. Willys, through mergers, became part of AMC, which was acquired by Chrysler in 1987. Jeep became its own badge, and that is why this is called by Mattel as a Jeep Willys. I like the casting and like this version. For a buck it does a great job of representing the original.

Matchbox Jeep Hurricane Concept

From the 2006 Matchbox lineup, here is the Jeep Hurricane Concept in military markings. As it never left the prototype stage, and the mechanics of this are presumably fairly complex, probably too delicate for military service. But a good looking model nonetheless.

Micro Machine military First Gulf War sets

Micro Machines released a series of vehicle to coincide with the First Gulf War. Had these for years, but never really displayed them, so sold off. About 1/144 scale, they are fair representations of the actual vehicles, but are clearly more toy than model.

Johnny Lightning (Part 3) M16 AA halftrack

This is Johnny Lightning's version of the M16 halftrack.  More toy-like than some of their other offerings.  It is close in scale to Matchbox's M16 kit, so it appears to be around 1/76 scale.

Johnny Lightning (Part 2) Trucks

Here are two examples of the GMC CCKW made by Johnny Lightning.  I got the open cab variant recently from Wal-Mart, and I'd like to get more, but supply is iffy at best.  I have only seen the one model at the 3-4 stores I have checked.  Also, I can't seem to find model numbers on-line for the various Johnny Lightning models.  These models appear to be around 1/87 scale.  The details are good for a toy, and I appreciate the fact that they released the open and closed cab versions.

Johnny Lightning (Part 1)

Some examples of die-cast cars by Johnny Lightning.  If I remember correctly, these were released to coincide with the release of Pearl Harbor back in 2001.  That would explain the markings for Wheeler Field and Hickam Field.

Corgi Diecast

Corgi used to sell die-cast vehicles in approximately 1/72. Wal-Mart carried them for $3 or so. Tried to get as many as I could, but only managed to snag a few before they were apparently discontinued.
