M2 1966 Corvette 427

Target had this on clearance for $1.25, so I was glad to snag it. I have a few M2 castings, and I appreciate the variety they have. The details on this are impressive for the scale, and I like the knock-off rims, the tampos, and the quality of the paint. The opening doors look out of scale, which isn't surprising, but the over all look is great.

Hot Wheels 1957 Corvette from 2004 Showcase series (C6752)

The thing I really appreciate about joining a collector's club are the deals you can find at meetings. At the January meeting for Indy Hot Wheels Club I snagged a number of older models. I got this 1957 Chevrolet Corvette, issued in 2004, for around $3. From the box:

1957 was a milestone year for the Corvette! It marked the first year for its high performance V8 with a 283 hp fuel-injected engine under its hood. Though its lines were softer, the competition found the new Corvette harder to beat. Zora-Arkus Duntov's meaner more muscular 'Vette placed 1st at Sebring and established the Vette as a world-class sports car. 1957 ... for Corvette it was a very good year!

Johnny Lightning 1998 Corvette Convertible Pace Car (casting #735)

Wanted to get this up before Memorial Day to commemorate the race, but work and home life intervened. I'm trying to collect all of the Johnny Lightning Pace Cars, and I think I've got most of them. Here is the 1998 Indy 500 Pace Car, a Corvette Convertible.

Hot Wheels '76 Greenwood Corvette (DHP88) - 2016 Mainline

From the Mild to Wild segment, here is the '76 Greenwood Corvette. I really, really like this version. It is flashy, as it should be. Usually I like stock version over more "tarted" up versions, but for me, Hot Wheels Greenwoods are better when they are bold and brash.

Hot Wheels Corvette C6R (CFN88) - 17 of 18 from the Hot Wheels Heritage Redline Series

The final 6 castings of the Heritage Redline Series have finally hit local stores. I've seen a few at 1 Walmart, and a few at 1 Kroger's. Not sure why I haven't seen more of them as the only "in demand" casting that I see is the Long Gone model. In any event, I've managed to collect them all, so I'm happy.

Hot Wheels 2005 Corvette C6R (P2391) - 2009 Mainline edition

Hot Wheels released this version back in 2009 as part of the Hot Wheels Racing Series. The casting looks great in the satin blue paint, and the wheels compliment the look. From the card:
"Specialty: Modified with a wing, body work for racing and turned suspension for performance, this Corvette was made to beat all others in its class."

Hot Wheels 2016 Then and Now - Corvettes (DHR17 & DHR22)

Another pair from the 2016 Then and Now segment. This time it is a Corvette Grand Sport Roadster (DHR17) and a 2014 Corvette Stingray (DHR22).

Hot Wheels Corvette C6R Treasure Hunt (K7615) from 2007 Mainline

Here is another Treasure Hunt from my collection - the Corvette C6R from the 2007 Mainline. As this is a regular Treasure Hunt, I was able to get it for a couple of bucks. I like the tampos on this, and like the model overall.

Hot Wheels 2013 Walmart exclusive - 1964 Corvette Stingray (X2047) ZAMAC

ZAMAC is an acronym for the Zinc, Aluminum, Magnesium, and Copper alloy that die-cast cars are made from. Hot Wheels will release "unpainted" cars that are exclusive to Walmart. Here is ZAMAC 008 from the 2013 Mainline - the 1964 Corvette Stingray (X2047).

I have ended up collecting one particular model from each of the Big 3 - the Ford Mustang, Dodge Viper, and, as here, the Chevy Corvette. Certainly one of the better looking versions of the 'Vette.

Last of my James Bond cars - a 1984 Corvette C4 as seen in James Bond A View to a Kill. This is the new release issued as part of Hot Wheels Retro Entertainment line. I especially like the wheels on this model.

Matchbox 2014 Exotics 5-Pack

Matchbox will release variations of its models that are only available in their multi-packs. The 2014 Exotics includes a Lamborghini Miura P400S, a BMW Z8 Roadster, a Lotus Exige, a Chevy Corvette ZR1, and a Volkswagen W12 Concept. I liked every one of these, so buying this was a no-brainer.
