Matchbox Range Rover Sport (MB691) from Best of Matchbox Series 2
Matchbox released the Range Rover Sport (MB691) as part of the Best of Matchbox, Series 2. With premium tires and realistic tampos, the captured the look of the original. What's nice about these models is that they are half the cost of some of the other premium offerings.

Johnny Lightning 1979 International Scout II
The new 2017 Johnny Lightning's are finally hitting the local stores, and I was pleased to pick up this 1979 International Scout II. International had a distinctive look, and it's a shame that they no longer make passenger vehicles. JL did a nice job on capturing the real vehicle, giving it a realistic paint scheme and convincing rim/tire selection. The front and rear tampos are well done, also.

Matchbox Jeep Wrangler Superlift (MB832) from 2016 Walmart Jeep series
Here is another offering from Matchbox's 2016 Jeep series offered through Walmart. It is the Jeep Wrangler Superlift (MB832), and is based on a real vehicle. Not a personal favorite of mine, to be honest. The card art on this series is well done.

Another offering from the 2016 Walmart Jeep Series - the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. This casting is well rendered and looks good in white.

Hot Wheels Isuzu VehiCROSS (57102) - 2003 Mainline Collector No. 127
This casting shows Hot Wheels at its best. The design allows glass headlights, the color looks great, it is "stock", and the tampos add to the overall effect. Only small quibble I have is the choice of rims. Got it at a flea market for 2 for $1, so it was a bargain, too.

Hot Wheels Road Trippin' series - Roll Patrol (DFL47)
Here is another casting from the 2015 Road Trippin' series. This is a series sold exclusively through Walmart. This is number 13 of 21 and commemorates the Pan American Highway. The Roll Patrol is an appropriate casting here. The tampos indicate DariƩn Gap, a break in the Pan-American Highway consisting of a large swathe of undeveloped swampland and forest (thanks, Google). The card art is great for this series, as are the decals on the models.

Matchbox Toyota Land Cruiser (MB764) from the Jurassic World series
This were sold at about $1.50 per model, so a little more than the regular series. As a licensing tie-in to the movie, and with the tampos being a little bit more complex, I can see why these are more expensive. I have yet to see the movie, so I really didn't plan on getting this series, but my resolve weakened I I've bought the majority of the series. Really like this example.

1999 Izuzu VehiCROSS - from Hot Wheels 2000 mainline First Editions
Again, got this carded for 2/$1.00 from a flea market. Hot Wheels at its best - stock version, realistic tampos, and nice re-creation of the original. Here is the 1999 Isuzu VehiCross (item#24392).
